    Year 3 Spanish Curriculum
    Children will be taught about the culture and history of Spain alongside other Spanish speaking countries around the world. They will continue to build on prior language knowledge taught in KS1 through the 4 key strands. Children will begin reading short texts, produce longer written texts and grow their conversational skills. New content taught will include hobbies, healthy eating and transport.

    Speaking and Listening

    • I can speak in basic sentences, using familiar vocabulary and phrases.
    • I can lead in and appreciate stories, songs, poems and rhymes in Spanish.
    • I am developing accurate pronunciation and intonation so that others understand me when using words I know.
    • I can engage in conversations; ask and answer questions; express opinions and respond to those of others; seek clarification and help.

    Reading and Writing
