Year 1 Design Technology Curriculum
Pupils will have the opportunity to create and develop using a range of different materials. The use of wood, plastic and recycled products will enable them to explore a range of possibilities.
Knowledge
- Use the basic principles of a healthy and varied diet to prepare dishes.
- Understand where food comes from.
- Explore and evaluate a range of existing products.
- Generate, develop, model and communicate their ideas through talking, drawing, templates, mock-ups and, where appropriate, information and communication technology.
Project
- Eggy Challenge: Cars - Pupils will use their knowledge of materials to construct cars that can carry an egg down a ramp without breaking.
