KS1 Class Teachers – Required September 2022

Based at Broadclyst, Westclyst & Monkerton Community Primary Schools, Exeter and Yeo Valley Primary School, Barnstaple

This is an exciting time to join us at Cornerstone Academy Trust, with schools based on the edge of Exeter in East Devon and in the coastal town of Barnstaple in North Devon. The Academy Trust has a national and international reputation for its outstanding and innovative education and its schools are highly sort after. We are responsible for a number of Department for Education ‘centres of excellence’, working with other teachers and schools across the country to provide professional development and support with school improvement strategies.

Due to the expansion of the academy trust with new year groups opening at the new schools of Westclyst and Monkerton and the movement of staff within the Trust, we are wishing to recruit two KS1 teachers in readiness for September. One to be based in Yeo Valley Primary School in Barnstaple and the other in one of our Exeter schools. These positions are required for September 2022 on a fixed term basis until the end of July 2023.

We want teachers who are willing to embrace the ethos of teaching a knowledge rich, purposeful, and project-based curriculum, through the meaningful use of technology. To be successful, you must demonstrate that you are willing to teach innovatively and reflectively, as well being prepared to collaborate with teams of colleagues. You must also be open to delivering high quality lessons and projects in a way that blends physical and digital learning environments, through video calling and online resources. The successful candidate will be keen to support and build on the international reputation that the school has for digitally integrated teaching.

You will have access to the teacher’s pension scheme, a health scheme, a cycle to work scheme and subsidised meals in our staff café with food cooked and served by our own chefs. Successful candidates will be provided with state-of-the-art IT equipment and will work in modern, digitally enabled classrooms where children have access to 1:1 to a Microsoft Surface device. To enable teachers to become the best they can be, we support them with a weekly an investment in their professional development through training and there is a good performance management process, where accelerated progress is payable to those who achieve highly. For ECT’s we provide a weekly programme with specialist support from an ECT programme leader, a mentor and with inputs delivered by experienced teachers.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check is required for all our posts.

We look forward to receiving your application and hopefully meeting you as part of the recruitment process.
