Teacher

We are recruiting a Class Teacher to be employed initially in KS2.  The post has become available to support the expansion of the Academy Trust and its Teaching School work. We are looking for someone to commence work in the summer term of 2019, or earlier if possible. The post is fixed term until July 2020.

We are looking for an inspiring and professionally thoughtful teacher who must be able to use a range of teaching styles and appropriate strategies to meet the needs of all children. To be the successful candidate you will need to have good experience of working across the KS2 age range, with a good understanding of the required outcomes for each year group.

The Cornerstone Academy Trust is responsible for Broadclyst and Westclyst Community Primary Schools and will be opening another new school in the Monkerton area of Exeter. It utilises its Academy freedoms to deliver an enriched and exciting project-based, problem-solving curriculum.

Broadclyst has been rated outstanding by Ofsted, and in addition, it is a Microsoft Showcase School. The Trust also runs a Teaching School and is an approved Academy Sponsor.

Now is an exciting time to join this growing academy trust, which is internationally recognised for its use of ICT as a tool for both teaching and learning.

Our schools offer an exciting, extended and enriched curriculum and expect teachers to fully engage in the provision of this, using the outdoors and in the extended day with the wide range of after-school activities that we offer. You will also be expected to use ICT in a fully integrated way as a tool to support your planning, teaching, tracking of the curriculum and in the activities within the classroom to support the children’s development.

Our employees have access to a health scheme, a cycle to work scheme and subsidised meals. Successful candidates will be provided with state-of-the-art IT equipment to help them fulfil their duties.

Visits to the school are welcome by prior arrangement. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check is required for this post.

Teaching assistant

The Cornerstone Academy Trust is responsible for Broadclyst and Westclyst Community Primary Schools. With a further school opening in Monkerton in 2020, this is an exciting time to join a growing team within the academy trust.

Due to the expansion of the Trust, we are seeking to recruit a dedicated and professional Teaching Assistant. Based in either Key Stage, you will work alongside the class teacher to support children in all areas of the curriculum. You will also assist in the preparation of the learning environment, liaising with parents, maintaining pupil records and carrying out a range of administrative tasks. Relevant experience of working with children and qualifications are desirable (e.g. NVQ level 2 or equivalent or higher).

Required as soon as possible, the post will initially be for a fixed term until the end of August 2019.

The working hours are typically 30 per week, starting at 9.00am, finishing 3.30pm, with a 30-minute lunch break. Posts within our Early Years team may have slightly different working hours.

The position is term time only + 2 weeks (40 weeks per annum).

The salary will be between £14,037 (adjusted for national living wage if over 25 years old) and £16,590 pro rata. This allows for progression within the role in line with our appraisal and professional development processes. The actual salary will be lower to reflect the hours per week and the weeks per year.

As an employer we offer our employees access to the local government pension scheme, a health scheme, a cycle to work scheme, as well as subsidised meals. You will be provided with modern IT equipment to help you fulfil your duties.

Visits to the school are welcome by prior arrangement.
