Classroom Assistants for September 2020
Broadclyst Community Primary School, Exeter
Westclyst Community Primary School, Exeter
Monkerton Primary School, Exeter
Due to the expansion of the Trust, we are looking to recruit several teaching assistants to be based in each of our four schools in KS1 or KS2. Required in September, the posts are fixed term until the end of July 2021.
You will work alongside the class teacher to support children in all areas of the curriculum and will also assist in the preparation of the learning environment, liaising with parents, maintaining pupil records and carrying out a range of administrative tasks to support the teacher. Relevant experience of working with children and qualifications are desirable (e.g. NVQ level 2 or equivalent or higher).
Required from September 2020, there are both permanent and fixed term positions available. The working hours are typically 30 per week, starting at 9.00am, finishing 3.30pm, with a 30-minute lunch break. There are opportunities for additional hours as part of our breakfast and after school clubs which can be discussed at interview.
The positions are term time only plus 2 weeks (40 weeks per annum).
The salary will be between £15,998 and £19.979 pro rata. This allows for progression within the role in line with our appraisal and professional development processes. The actual salary will be lower to reflect the hours per week and the weeks per year.
Our employees have access to a health scheme, a cycle to work scheme and subsidised meals. Successful candidates will be provided with state-of-the-art IT equipment to help them fulfil their duties.
Cornerstone Academy Trust is responsible for Broadclyst, Westclyst and Yeo Valley Primary Schools and will be opening another new school in the Monkerton area of Exeter later this year. It utilises its Academy freedoms to deliver an enriched and exciting project-based, problem-solving curriculum.
Broadclyst & Westclyst have been rated outstanding by Ofsted, and in addition, Broadclyst is a Microsoft Showcase School. The Trust also runs a Teaching School, an English Hub, a Science Hub and a Computing Hub and is an approved Academy Sponsor.
Now is an exciting time to join this growing academy trust, which is internationally recognised for its use of ICT as a tool for both teaching and learning.
Visits to the schools are welcome by prior arrangement. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
